We will be conducting phone consultations rather than face-to-face consultations as the first point of contact whenever possible.
We have to take this step to minimise the risk of infection to our staff and also to encourage people to remain at home and reduce their exposure to the virus.
Until the Medicare rebates apply to all patients, this means some calls may still incur a private fee.
Services such as the provision of referrals, certificates and prescriptions can be conducted over the phone and will be sent by unencrypted email or faxed as required. By proceeding to book a telephone consultation you are agreeing to your information being sent by email as not all providers have fax or encrypted email
We can now Bulk Bill Patients eligible for the Medicare Rebates for telephone consultations (TELEHEALTH). By proceeding to book a telephone consultation you are agreeing to:
your information being sent by email as not all providers have fax or encrypted email
assigning your Medicare rebate (where available) to the doctor to claim directly from Medicare (Bulk Billing)
We also offer private telephone consultations for patients where their is no Medicare rebate available. (For privately billed phone consultations, where an attendance for a face to face appointment that day is deemed necessary by the doctor, the appointment on that day with be billed direct to Medicare.) By proceeding to book a telephone consultation you are agreeing to your information being sent by email as not all providers have fax or encrypted email.
We are adjusting our appointment schedules to be even more flexible
We charge a private fee for consultations and other services. However, we offer:
- Bulk billed appointments for Children under 16 years on weekdays.
- Discounts to pension and health care card holders.
- Bulk billed appointments for DVA patients and certain Health Assessments and Management Plans.
This approach allows us greater flexibility to spend longer with our patients and to provide a more attractive environment for our patients.
Patients can make payments at the time of consultation by cash, cheque, credit card or EFTPOS. The lastest technologies mean any rebates are paid to your account as quickly as possible.
Check the fees for consultations on our fees list, which is also available in our waiting area or by asking for a copy from reception. We refer to the AMA guidelines when setting our fees.
Skin cancer treatments and other procedures, such as contraceptive implant insertion, incur additional out of pocket expenses. Please seek clarification beforehand as these will vary depending on the type of procedure and complexity.
Please speak to the doctor or receptionist regarding any payment difficulties.
