In case you missed it, the latest recommendation is for adults (aged 18 years and over) to get a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine 5 months after the 2nd dose.
You will need to check the date you received your second dose and arrange you vaccination when you fall due.
Unfortunately, this change in the recommendation has come at a difficult time. Like many clinics, we have reduced or stock of COVID19 vaccinations to avoid wasting expired vaccines over Christmas and New Year. We will not be able to re-start vaccinating until after 10 January 2022.
We recommend you check when you are eligible (ie 5 months after your second dose) and use the Government’s Eligibility checker to find a vaccine centre that is open – click here Vaccines Eligibility Checker (healthdirect.gov.au). Check soon as even some of the Queensland Health Walk-In vaccination centres are planned to close over the Christmas / New Year period.
How to check you date of vaccination
- Check your Digital COVID19 vaccination certificate
Follow the link to learn how to get your certificate. You can even save it in your Apple Wallet or Google Pay phone apps.
- If you cannot access this online, telephone the Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809 (Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm).
Please do not ring your clinic as this diverts resources away from caring from other patients.
With COVID19 infection cases increasing locally, please book for telephone or video consultations in preference to face to face as much as possible, and follow our safety rules about entering the building.
